WAR PAINT SERIES

The War Paint Series takes a look at 1860’s guns and swords and re-appropriates them into elements of color, pattern and design. The task of this series is to take the idea of the weapon as a destructive tool and rearrange that preconception into an image of design and art. “The War Paint Series uses American Civil War era decorative war pieces and turns them into 21st century decorative wall pieces.”

The series analyses the unique and intricate working pieces of each weapon and produces patterning by creating repeating relationships of those elements. The War Paint Series uses color with the new compositions to bring to life into its surroundings. This series creates an energetic backdrop of high-design residential and commercial spaces.
