AROUSING TILES

Arousing Tiles takes the idea of the planar surface of walls and begins to push and pull to create a dimensional texture. A faint, familiar image appears as if moving within the tile. This familiar image is carnal and delightful but just beyond reach. Arousing Tiles pushes beyond the flatness of the wall and starts to experiment with the image and the tactile, sensuous expression of surface, light and shadow. The figure beneath the surface falls into formal explorations of the beautiful and the sublime as they play out across individual tiles. As Arousing Tiles is constructed, elements of the elegant and the contorted are juxtaposed and start to create clusters and intensities of rivaling images of beauty.
