Located in Paris’ 20th arrondissement, Artisan’s Dwelling pushes the tension between working and living, function and form, the abstract and the pure, art and architecture.  The art that is found in project detailing can bring the whole project into cohesion.  A concept pushed so far that the details tell the story of the building.

The idea of a work space and living space merged together in the same container is an abstract idea in itself.  A free work space tucked under an enclosed living area creates a separation and unity of function and form. Abstraction through a pure medium causes a tension that is projected and eased throughout the rest of the artisan’s dwelling.
